Lasernet Use Cases

Replicating Document Configurations Across Environments

Written by Default Author | 29 July 2026

Document changes are normally built and tested before they are released. Moving a query, template or workflow from development to test and production should not overwrite environment-specific destinations or accidentally send test output to real recipients.

The Challenge: A Document Release Spans Dynamics 365 and Lasernet

The Dynamics-side query and report configuration lives in the Finance & Operations integration, while forms, workflows and delivery logic are managed in Lasernet. Treating only one side as the deployable configuration can leave environments out of step or replace values that should remain local.

The Lasernet Approach: Coordinated F&O Connector and Lasernet Configuration

Teams can move the required Finance & Operations Connector configuration together with the matching Lasernet document components through development, test and production. Lasernet environment variables and environment-specific settings preserve values such as printer routes, email destinations and test safeguards while the reusable configuration is replicated.

Why It Matters

The benefits are clear:

  • Release control: the Dynamics and Lasernet parts of a document change move together
  • Safety: environment-specific destinations reduce the risk of test output reaching live recipients
  • Repeatability: the same coordinated release method supports future document changes and rollouts

Replicate the Complete Document Configuration

Managing the F&O Connector and Lasernet as one release package helps environments remain aligned without carrying the wrong local settings into production.
